The key to an effective youth-led approach is having a variety of youth appropriate connection points. Connection points are generally programs through which a young person establishes a relationship with the organisation and its staff. From these points a young person then enters the youth development program that can be customised to each individual’s strengths. The participants then not only develop their own skills, experiences, ethics and values but also directly input into the development of new programs (ie connection points) for other young people.
